It must be just a workaround, because if your drive is SATA, it should be
handled by libata. piix is the old Intel IDE driver. The new Feisty kernel
probably expected to use libata for the drive, but due to the current support
for the newest storage controllers it ran into problems. Hence the need for
you to temporarily revert to the piix driver.
