K3b Device Buffer Issues

Does anybody have any idea why the device buffer doesn't come into
effect when I burn a DVD ISO image with K3b? The software buffer works
but I have noticed that the hardware buffer just presents the "No Info"
box. This causes the DVD movie to jump at various points during DVD
playback, even when burning at 4x and 8x. Some handy advice on what to
do would be greatly appreciated.
