G'day everyone. While mostly a lurker on this list I'm highly active in
other areas of Free Software in Australia (particularly SLUG and LA) and
have been for over 12 years. I thought I'd drop you all a little report.
We've just had CeBit 2006 here in Sydney and the FOSS contingent was
highly successful, running amazing Ubuntu demonstrations in the Linux
Australia Demonstration Zone and giving away over approximately 1000
Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy) CDs between the Linux Australia, OSIA, Solutions
First and other linux stands. We even had to resort to burning CD's on
demand as we ran out of boxed sets.
The LA stands were manned by volunteers for the entire three days of
CeBit. I've written a little more detail here:

I highly recommend ordering as many Dapper CD's as you can when they
become available, not only is Dapper impressive but the installation
routine has taken a quantum leap forward and this release impresses
newcomers to Linux like no other Linux release before it.
Take care :)

We had clear intelligence assessments that Iraq had a weapons of mass
destruction capability."

"Australian intelligence agencies made it clear to the Government all
along that Iraq did not have a massive WMD programme. I will go so far
as to say that the material was going straight from ONA to the Prime
Minister's Office and the dishonesty was occuring somewhere in there."
