Buying a laptop without MS

Greetings all..
Please read any EULA as they have changed since Geoffry was able to
get a refund.. (Geoffrey is a close friend.) [In summary, Geoffrey's
refund sparked of the 'Windows Refund Day' campaign in the USA and
even got mentioned in a linux documentary as 'some guy in Australia
managed to get a refund'.]
Today, retailers (Harvey Norman, Dick Smith etc) take the opinion that
the OS is part of the product. If you disagree with the license, you
can return the whole product for a full refund but not a refund on the
OS Software itself.
Geoffery only got his refund in the end when it was pointed out to
Toshiba that he could return the laptop for a full refund and then go
an buy a newer (faster) model and actually come out with a small
profit.
Unfortunately, this doesn't help with buying a Laptop without windows, today.
Cheers,
Paul Schulz
