Hi Tito,
Do you know if the package manager also installed 'gtk-gui'?
I use the terminal too install packages.. it does the same thing and i
find that t is faster, if I know what I'm after.. and to use that..
Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal
(prompt)$ sudo apt-get update
(prompt)$ sudo apt-get install gftp
Explaination:
'sudo' makes you 'administrator', and you will need to enter your
password. The system will remember when you have just used 'sudo', so
it won't prompt you for your password the second time.
The 'apt-get update' command is not strictly necessary, if you have
run the package manager recently, it just get the newest list of
packages. The 'apt-get install gftp' command should show you the other
packages that it also want to install, which should include
'gftp-gui'.
If 'gftp' doesn't appear in your menus, it may be because wa are
running different versions of Ubuntu. (I'm running Ubuntu edgy -
6.10). You can always start programs from the terminal if they are
installed, by using their name.. 'gftp-gui' in this case.
Cheers,
Paul
