No, you are not. :-)

Even welcoming new members and directing them in the right direction
makes you part of the team, no need to consider yourself as
inactive. :-)

We do *not* have a designated greeter[and probably never will ;) ], and
we really cant expect one person to be alert/active everyday of the year
to welcome new members.

When new members take the time to announce their presence, it would be
nice if _anyone_ can just say 'Hi and welcome' and answering any
questions they might have.

Do not be afraid to answer, just answer questions to the best of your
knowledge.
Incase the info is not perfect, others who know more will just reply
with more info.
