Looks like the current unity 'logo' is the one used here:
<https://launchpad.net/unity>
Considering the whole re-branding that that went with Ubuntu and
Canonical that seems to be the Unity logo...

What seems plausible is to propose your logo for the unity *plugin* in
compiz settings window, eg:
<http://people.canonical.com/~njpatel/unity1.png>

There seems no icon for the plugin and your icon fits quite well there..
