I don't know if anyone else has been working on this. But, here is my 
input. I decided to go with editing the newwave theme because, well the 
author is on this list, so I can always ask when I get stuck. Attaching 
what I have so far. all my buttons/tabs. are included as an svg.  
Beware: there is some very light pink involved T__T (see button focus).
