I think this will need a good shadow to make sure this stands off of
light backgrounds. That might also impact the shadows on the rest of the
set.

And this would be best for files that represent paper. I don't feel it
would work for say, multimedia filetypes. So we will also need a basic
generic icon.

How about this idea? For image files, a landscape piece of paper with a
torn edge across the top? But like it was torn out of a drawing book.
Just an idea.

Basically, I'm for different base mimes depending on the use.
