In some cases nothing. Ubuntu Studio has done a lot of work with bugs
like this and you may well find a fix, but it can effect other apps.
Then a fix for that messes up another. Our gtkrc was a mess at one point
full of fixes. I submit bugs alot.

Hopefully this isn't one of those "we fixed it here but it broke over
here." situations.
