i think that compatibility with 3/4 years old pc should not be broken.
a lot of pepole have hardware older then the one you propose.
the above configuration is referred only to pc 'vista enabled' sold in
the last few months.
if microsoft wasn't able to impose vista on the market, due to its high
hardware request, i can't see how someone could buy a new pc only to
test the new amazing ubuntu gui.
