I just found out how to properly skin the comboboxentry-widget with the 
pixmap engine. I wrote about it on my blog:

On the new topic of colors:
I changed the hue of a screenshot to find out how a blue version would 
look like, and I also tried a dark version. I attached the mockups 
(they have a bad quality, they are only there to picture how it could 
look like)
