I'd like to announce that the artwork for Ubuntu Studio-Gutsy will be open to all. I have to add some more detail over the next week or so. So expect some details to change. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio/Artwork/OfficialHardyIncoming

The concept is a D.I.Y/punk/indie rock thing. People in that scene will immediately get it. I also feel this very much embodies the spirit of Open-Source/Free-Software. ;)

I will now take this chance to explain the Gutsy art. I'm sure many will hate the art vs. Feisty's but oh well. Everyone's a critic.

We lost our lead artist mid-way through the development cycle. We had a design direction (the D.I.Y/punk/indie rock thing) that also suffered because of this. We called for another art lead but nobody qualified showed up.

So with v2's idea being moved to v3 we had to scramble to put another idea in place. What will ship with Gutsy is the result. The gloss is gone. Everyone loved it but it's being done to death and we are moving away from it to create something really unique for Hardy.
