Clearlooks seem to be an elegant choice [for general purpose users] -
but is not Ubuntu default.
I think we should propose Clearlooks to be default theme -> this must be
approved by the Ubuntu stuff and I think this will be the hard work.
I put on attachment some screenshoots with Clearlooks and NuoveXT icon
theme modded by me (I put arrows from Nimbus [this is the theme for
Solaris Gnome]).
Well, the main problem of Ubuntu is he need a strong visual personality
like Solaris got with the Nimbus theme. No more, no less. Strong, clean
visual elements (navigational arrows, forms, scrollbars).
This is solved partly by the Human theme - but this theme seems to be
too scholastic - like "the first try" of a young painter. Not too much
personality (eg scrollbars - take a look at nimbus scollbars which got a
personal touch - they can be observed clear from the distance and this
is important).
So guys, tell me if U start something about a new theme (maybe starting
from Clearlooks base ) - I can help, I am designer too - I have some web
space where we can discuss - mockups -etc ...just let me know and I will
set up that place as a subdomain of theagency.com.ro.
Best wishes from my side,
Sorin
