An icon theme update doesn't necessarily mean that the Firefox themes need to
be rebuilt. Most updates will probably not include icons that are used in
Firefox so the impact of each update could be relatively low.
If an icon in the theme used in Firefox does get changed it's mostly a matter
of typing in "make" again and awaiting the result. I'm not sure if that
equals "having to rebuild a whole stack of stuff".
On the other hand, pardon my French, I think a matching Firefox theme that
lags behind on one or two low-visibility icons is always better than
reverting to the default Firefox theme.
While the period leading up to the Dapper release is going to be frantic, I
expect the actual long term support to be an easy ride for these Firefox
themes. Please correct me if you think I'm misjudging this.
With kind regards,
