One thing I'd also like to make you aware of Henrik - the IRC user
(and an art.gnome.org web developer) with the handle "miketech" has a
GTK program that automagically fetches, previews and even installs
various pieces of artwork (backgrounds, window decorations, etc). I
don't know if that functionality is built into the art.gnome.org
website code or if it's something extra, but I know miketech is
working to make his app multi-website compatible. I believe he may
even have this functionality in his development code as he's shown me
screenshots with a drop-down box to select either art.gnome.org or
art.ubuntu.com. There's no rush for us to get this working right away,
as I don't believe his app is in Ubuntu's main repository for Breezy,
but it could be very cool for a future release. (especially if the
backend stuff is already built into the website!). Another bonus is
that they're trying to get gnome-looks.org and kde-looks.org in on
this project, so in the future we may have a general purpose system
for previewing and installing artwork from a HUGE community of Linux
artists. (keep in mind this is general artwork and not just the bits
that make it directly into the Ubuntu distro).

For others that are playing around with our "soon-to-be" art site and
would like to get more insight into it's inner workings, the web
developers for art.gnome.org hang out in the #gnome-art IRC channel on
irc.gimp.org. As Henrik said, that group has been very friendly and
helpful the times I've spent chatting with them on IRC.
