You have been subscribed to a public bug by Sergio Durigan Junior (sergiodj):

I would like to request the removal of the binary package libapache2
-mod-wsgi from the groovy release.

We are working towards sync'ing mod-wsgi from Debian, which has dropped
Python 2 support, and therefore dropped the libapache2-mod-wsgi binary
package.

The rationale behind this request is that we want to get rid of Python 2
packages on Ubuntu, so this one is a step towards reaching that goal.

On Ubuntu, just like on Debian, doesn't have any reverse-dependencies of
libapache2-mod-wsgi:

$ apt rdepends libapache2-mod-wsgi
libapache2-mod-wsgi
Reverse Depends:
  Conflicts: libapache2-mod-wsgi-py3

$ reverse-depends -r groovy libapache2-mod-wsgi
$

** Affects: mod-wsgi (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
