Rationale:

lightdm-webkit-greeter uses the old webkitgtk (webkit 1) api which is
currently in the process of being removed from the archive[1]. The
greeter's code was updated two years ago to use the new webkit2gtk
(webkit2) api. Since then it has been actively developed under the name
lightdm-webkit2-greeter. In Feb 2017, the name was changed to web-
greeter[2].
