** Description changed:
Several webkit1 reverse-dependencies have been removed from Debian
Testing ('buster').
While I'd like to see them removed from unstable too (or ported away
from webkit1), that will take quite a while longer.
Removed from testing
====================
- gnucash
luakit (there's an ITA but it's a web browser so I wouldn't be too sad if luakit is removed until it can be at least properly maintained in Debian)
thawab
xiphos
Never in Debian
===============
lightdm-webkit-greeter
Mike Gabriel from Debian MATE has begun preparing web-greeter (the renamed version of lightdm-webkit-greeter)

Other Info
==========
- Probably the most difficult remaining one is gnucash. Fedora 27 actually bundled webkit1 inside the gnucash packaging. gnucash 3.0 was ported to gtk3 but its build tests fail in Ubuntu. See LP: #1758740
+ Arch Linux completely removed webkit1 in 2017.
- Arch Linux completely removed webkit1 last year.
+ We still need to figure out how to handle eclipse in order to completely
+ remove webkitgtk.
