As Lubuntu's Head of QA, I'd love to see this implemented. 

>From what I can tell looking at the code, this seems to be consistent with other flavors. It does not appear that the code needs any additional modification. 

Should dev.conf mirror prod.conf for channels? That might be one place to add.
