  Community member Otto Kekäläinen has done a good job keeping our MariaDB
  packages updated with latest from upstream. This is no small task. While
  preparing the 5.5.41 updates, he asked that we drop the mariadb-5.5
  package from vivid and newer -- he would rather see vivid and newer
  users on mariadb-10.0, instead, which is already packaged.
  
  The maintenance burden is high enough that I do not think anyone else
  will step forward to maintain mariadb-5.5 on vivid and newer releases.
  
  mariadb-5.5 is removed from Debian.
  
  Please remove mariadb-5.5 from vivid and newer releases.
