He wasn't complaining about "python-extras", but the source package,
which was named just "extras". If every little bit and bob in pypi,
PEAR, gems, CPAN, etc was packaged with just their "bare" upstream
name, it would be a mess, given all the generic names.
As for the python3 thing, upstream claims to support python3, so why
not just package both modules and be done with it, so it's one less
thing that needs fixing/porting when its rdeps move to python3?
