I had a bit of a look at porting awn to a newer vala based on gilir's
branch in bug #660243. It would require a fair bit of investment to do
it properly. I'm not sure it's something we want to do as a distro,
given that upstream development seems to have ceased. It's unfortunate
as this is a fairly popular piece of software, but it really needs an
active upstream if it is to be viable IMHO.
