Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
Ubuntu delta was for multiarch changes and cleaning the .la
files. Debian fixed this by removing the .la files

libbuffy (1.5-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream version
     + Packaging cleanups
     + Minor code cleanups
  * Updated standards-version, do not install libtool .la files
