There has to be an extremely strong reason for us not to sync a package
that exists in Debian.  I'm honestly not sure that this is a sufficient
argument.  You should be having this debate with the Debian maintainer;
the Ubuntu archive administrators cannot effectively act as arbitrators
in this kind of dispute.
