please don't apologize.  I understand.  There are other areas of K/Ubuntu that

when I said "trust me", I meant: you are going to make it work.  And: you can 
trust on me to help you make it work, I can guide you since I have made it 
work.

I don't know what old version of Hugin that was not working out of the box you 
refer to.  I radically changed the project's release process since I joined, 
including basic criteria to ensure that releases should always work

and coming, check out https://launchpad.net/~hugin/+archive/nightly

we have enough users hooked on that PPA so that we get plenty of
feedback.
