[Bug 828537] [NEW] Please remove meta-gnome2 from the Oneiric archives

You have been subscribed to a public bug by Jeremy Bicha (jbicha):

meta-gnome2 is Debian's set of metapackages to install Gnome 2 but Gnome
2 is not really installable in Ubuntu Oneiric. The Debian Gnome team
does have a meta-gnome3 package but it only lives in their svn and
hasn't been released yet. meta-gnome2 depends on all sorts of legacy
Gnome 2 libraries and some apps that I believe we'd like to get out of
the archives at least by the next LTS and so removing this would help
remove some of those rdepends. I expect that we'll get meta-gnome3 in
the Ubuntu archives for the next LTS also.
