Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
There were two outstanding Ubuntu changes:
 * Remove .la files in dist-packages:
   - No longer needed due to cdbs' clean-la.mk.
 * Fix deprecation warning with Python 2.6:
   - Fixed differently upstream.
