Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
The patch for debian/gpredict.desktop has been included in Debian. Now package is syncable.

  * Fix "Menu item Help -> License doesn't do anything; missing COPYING
    file" Added dh_link to rules from GPL2 COPYING file as suggested

gpredict (1.1-6) unstable; urgency=low

  * Fix "Fix desktop-file-validate warnings in the .desktop file"
    Removed Encoding: line, removed Application from Categories, removed the
    .png extension from Icon in the debian/gpredict.desktop (Closes: #572722)
