Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:

I forwarded this patch to Debian and it has been fixed in 0.4.9-2.

Fixed in 0.4.8-1.
Additionally the Ubuntu package has been converted to source format 3.0
but that's not a good reason to diverge from Debian.
