A workaround for the problem is to do the following :
sudo apt-get install virtualbox-ose-source
sudo m-a update
sudo m-a prepare
sudo m-a a-i virtualbox-ose
sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv restart

     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Fix Committed
