I am the maintainer of gcin, both for Ubuntu and Debian.

Jaunty currently has 1.4.0-1, which was synced directly from Debian unstable.
The 1.4.2-1 is in experimental only because Lenny was frozen.

I have tested it in Jaunty without problem.
Please sync gcin from Debian, thank you.
