You have been subscribed to a public bug by Cody A.W. Somerville (cody-somerville):
Binary package hint: xfdesktop4
xfdesktop4 recommends xubuntu-default-settings, and because APT installs
recommendations, this gets installed. So just wanting to use XFCE on
stock Ubuntu turns your install into a Xubuntu themed one.
This recommendation should probably be dropped to a suggestion
TEST CASE:
1. Installing xfdesktop4 on non-Xubuntu install from -proposed doesn't change the GDM theme to Xubuntu
