when you search for "koctave" in Google you will maybe recognize this
website:

Here is the last commit on the 19th May 2007 so I also think that it isn't maintained anymore.
I'm going to write an e-mail to the developer mentioned on the site linked above and to the developer mentioned at the Freshports site.
