The driver in Hardy  should fix issues with the card being left stuck,
and Klaus confirmed it working on Hardy so closing the bug as fixed.

xserver-xorg-video-nv (1:2.1.6-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
    + Pull upstream commits up to d483ecd851bb84014f1fa86f0ada4540b3ad801e
      for 8800 GT support and one bug fix.
    + Unwedge the hardware if the BIOS left it stuck, closes: #444743.
