Binary package hint: xapian-omega
1.0.7-3 fixes the following Debian bug which is present in 1.0.5-1 (the
version currently in intrepid):
484456 [xapian-omega] black on dark blue in search results can be hard
to read
Updating would also update the debian packaging to standards-version
3.8.0, improve the build dependency on xapian-core to avoid FTBFS issues
like LP#211621, and also remove the explicit link of -lz into the
binaries in this package (libxapian15 requires -lz, so this is mostly
cosmetic, but should reduce start up time slightly).
The upstream changes from 1.0.5-1 include improvements to documentation, support for indexing
UTF-16 text files which identify themselves with a BOM, support for indexing DjVu files, and three new OmegaScript
commands ($addfilter, $lower, $upper). The new features are fairly self-contained - any bugs introduced are likely
to only affect the new features.
Upstream 1.0.7 has been out for 4 weeks now, and the intervening 1.0.6 release was
nearly 5 months ago, so the changes have seen wider testing.
There are no Ubuntu changes in the current intrepid package.
** Affects: xapian-omega (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
