Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
Ubuntu change is incorporated in Debian revision (identical)

ccontrol (0.9.1+20060806-4) unstable; urgency=low

  * Force-disable GCC stack protection as it is incompatible with the
    current dietlibc (Ubuntu #109157).
  * Don't ignore errors in $(MAKE) distclean.
