Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
The Ubuntu package used dh_icons in debian/rules. This is now in Debian.
Changelog since current hardy version 0.9.9.6-1ubuntu1:

* closes: #449032 (added dh_icons to rules to adjust to ubuntu source)
