Backports, timeliness etc

Hi,
I randomly got dragged into a discussion on #ubuntu-devel last night
about backports and how to get them done in a more timely fashion. I
got jdong to understand the «backports are for shiny features, not
bugfixes», but he complained about the speed of the SRU process,
especially for universe.
LaserJock and ajmitch got involved in the discussion and the SRU
policy for universe is on the agenda for the MOTU meeting today (in
about 12 hours). Interested parties might want to show up and
participate.
I think we still need to work out what expected response times from a
backport is approved until when it can be expected to be available
is. Same for syncs, etc.
We can either discuss this here or have a short meeting on
#ubuntu-meeting; whatever people prefer.
