Looking at the  version in ubuntu 
http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=libcommons-dbcp-java&searchon=names&subword=1&version=all&release=all
that  Feisty  Edgy  and Dapper has  1.2.1

and Looking at the  change log  for  commons-dbcp-java 1.2.2 
http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/dbcp/changes-report.html

that says  that  the changes are api compatible  
Can  Feisty edgy and dapper be updated  to  1.2.2 ?  or has to be done a Backport ?
