Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: ion3
Please remove ion3 from hardy
Rationale:
License issues (see bug #177360)
Upstream doesn't consider it suitable for release (see Debian bug #415287)
Generally buggy and crashes (see other bug reports)
Discussion:
There's no strong reason why a final ion3 release wouldn't be suitable for inclusion in Ubuntu, but the snapshot is broken, and upstream is picky about having broken software shipped. ion2 is available in hardy, and has no open bugs (despite being orphaned in Debian).
Ideally the removal comment will be such as to encourage a future
sync request once ion3 becomes stable.
