I've actually asked the maintainer of getdeb why he didn't contribute
his packages to the universe. But he said he did, but nobody bothered to
'validate' his packages, so he gave up.

I'm not entirely sure why or what, so I'm going to refrain from comments
about the MOTU. I just hope they can get their act together.  There seem
to be people submitting packages that are not even looked into. Which is
disturbing, since there are many requested packages.

Or in this case, a working debian packages, but a complete refusal to sync for one of the most requested games.
What is going on? Why didn't this make feisty?
