Shell: The command interpreter used to pass commands to an operating
system;
so called because it is the part of the operating system that
interfaces with the outside world. there are many shells and you can
choose your own the default shell under Linux is bash. shell is
translated into Arabic as "صدفة" and some translate it to "غلاف"<br>

Kernel: In an operating system, the core portions of the program that
reside in
memory and perform the most essential operating system tasks, such as
handling disk input output operations and managing the internal memory.
Kernel is translated into Arabic as "النواة".<br>

Good Morning Everybody,<br>
I am a new user to Linux OS. I also have some questions about its
compatibility with other software esp. chatting program and Arabic
reviewing. that is to say that if i am writing a doc in Arabic can I
have the feature to check spelling. In Word I press F7 for that. The
other thing I have seen the Linux OS and I really like to use and be
expert with such OS. Can you help me in that regard. One more question
about the command line and the terms like shell and kernel. What are
they mean?<br>
