Light reading : Technical terms - translate or not translate?

Points well made, and I agree with them to a certain extent. I don't know
if any classical Arabic
words or roots map well to any of these operations such as "save" , "open"
or any other standard technical term.
I imagine that when this all started some of the English words slapped on
technical things seemed pretty odd as well.
Television was made up, and is a combo of two words, I think it may be in
Arabic's best interest at the UI level to simply decide and
set a standard on words to be used. This would act as a standard template
and people could say their app is compliant with so-and-so arabic standard.

Just a thought, but I remember hearing conversations like this a long time
ago, making a decision even if it is half wrong, is better than no decision
at all.

peace,

rami
