Debes editar las particiones de tu disco con Gparted. 
Inicia el LIVE CD de Ubuntu. Busca Gestor de particiones Gparted (o solo Gparted) entre las aplicaciones administrativas.
Inicialo. Se mostrarás las particiones de tu disco duro. ELIMINA la que pretender borrar, dejando asi, el espacio SIN ASIGNAR.
ASEGURATE de eliminar la partición correcta, y no alguna otra, eh! Perderías datos importante si te equivocas. Allí, no vas a ver las particiones como C:o E: sino, por su tamaño en GigaBytes. 
Una vez que la eliminaste, cierra el Gparted e inicia el asistente de instalación. Aparecerá una 3ra opción que dice: Instalar Ubuntu en el espacio sin asignar mas grande. 
Elígela y el proceso de instalación iniciará, asumiendo que deseas instalar en el espacio sin asignar que ANTES ocupaba la unidad E:
