[ubuntu-ar] 11.04 no me inicia: VFS: Cannot open root device ... or unknown-block(0, 0)

Ayer actualice y no quiere bootear, no se si tentrá algo que ver o
será mi maquina:

VFS: Cannot open root device "UUID=ee...." or unknown-block(0,0)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions:
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs or unknown-block(0,0)
Pid: 1, comm: swapper Not tainted 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu

Probe bootear con un pendrive y la partición está intacta, sin errores
(es ext4).

La configuración es:

GRUB versión 1.99 rc1-13ubuntu3
set gfxpayload=$linux_gfx_mode
insmod part_msdos
insmod ext2
set root='(/dev7sda, msdos1)'
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set=root ee5...
linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.38-8-generic root=UUID=ee5... ro single
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.38-8-generic

Cambiando root=/dev/sda1 tampoco anda:
VFS: Cannot open root device "sda1" or unknown-block(0,0)

¿Alguien tiene alguna idea?
¿Habrá que reinstalar grub2?

Se me hace que es algun temita con el kernel,
¿habrá un metodo facil de volver al anterior?
