[ubuntu-ar] Como instalar webcams?

hola amigos, intento instalar una web cam soltech la cual me la detecta como:

cuando entro a kopete, camorama o cualquier app que vea la camara no
se ve nada pero figura como conectada. Me pasa lo mismo con otra
camarita Datavision (son todas de pocos pesos :), )
que ahora no la tengo y me hace lo mismo.
