[ubuntu-ar] Quiero entender mejor al xorg de ubuntu

Resulta que al ver el xorg.conf de mi Ubuntu Hardy, me encuentro con
esto (dejo solo lo relevante):

        Identifier      "Configured Mouse"
        Driver          "mouse"

Section "Device"
        Identifier      "Configured Video Device"

EndSection

Me llama la atención los "Configured" que aparecen en Device, Monitor y
Screen.

¿configurados por que/quien?

¿qué más se usa en hardy para configurar el video?

Nota: No se trata de algo que no me funcione... solo quiero entender
mejor como funciona.
