Mira yo te sugiero que sigas usando el kernel viejo hasta que caiga uno
nuevo y funcione. Debe haber algún problema con el kernel nuevo y tu
webcam que te esta trayendo problemas.
Si utilizar el kernel nuevo no te representa ninguna ventaja (andas más
o mejor otras cosas). Yo no invertiría mucho tiempo investigando con la
webcam. Casi seguro que en un par de meses se solucione.
Reporta el problema eso sí (si no esta reportado actualmente). Cosa que
se tenga en cuenta.
Para que tu máquina arranque con el kernel viejo, tenes que modificar el
archivo
/boot/grub/menu.lst
Donde decía
default 0
Pone
default 2
Fijate que es la 3er entrada la de tu kernel viejo en el archivo menu.lst
Tenes:
1ro el kernel nuevo
2do el kernel nuevo modo rescate
3ro el kenrel viejo 2.6.24
4to el kernel viejo modo rescate
5to el test de memoria
Para modificar la opción por defecto tenes que editar la línea que te
pase. Se empieza a contar desde 0. A la línea de kernel viejo le
corresponde el 2.
