App indicators in Java

Hi there,

I'm having trouble with a Java application I'm working on. I need to use
app indicators but I don't know how to so. Is it possible to use D-Bus to
integrate with it? If not would I be able to use the Unity C library to use
them? Or would it be better to create a Python script to make the app
indicator and connect to the script using Java.

Also is it possible to integrate with the sync menu instead of using a
normal app indicator?
